Preshoot Checklist

 

General Prep

❑ Be ready:  Cleaning and staging needs to be done before I arrive.

❑ General decluttering : stash cords, cables, and remotes out of view.  

❑ Secure Pets and hide crates, litter boxes, food bowls etc.

❑ Open blinds/curtains and turn on all lights.  Replace burned out bulbs

❑ Turn off all ceiling fans. 

❑ Clean Windows.  Hdr photos show views out the windows. You don’t want them obscured dirt

❑ Put away family photos if you don’t want them seen by the public

 

Outside-

❑ Clear the cars  from the driveway and the front of the home.

❑ Hide trashcans: Trashcans can be placed on the side of the property or in the garage.

❑ Hide hoses and sprinklers 

❑ Mow and trim the yard/In winter-remove snow from driveway and walkways

❑ Pick up poop: If you have a dog, make sure that all of their droppings are cleared from the yard

❑ Clean patio furniture: Dust and remove cobwebs from all outdoor furniture. Do not hose down

your furniture the day of your shoot, since this can create puddles.

 

Entryways

❑ Clear entryways: Remove shoes, umbrellas, and similar items.

 

Living Room/Dining Room

❑ Declutter Mantle/coffee table

❑ Fluff and arrange pillows on furniture

❑ Clean table tops and straighten chairs

 

Kitchen

❑ Declutter kitchen: A few items on the counters are usually fine, but dishes, sponges, rags, etc.

are best put away. It's best to remove all magnets, pictures, etc. from the refrigerator. 

 

Bathrooms

❑ Declutter bathrooms: hide, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, and other "personal" items 

❑ Clean mirrors: HDR photography is high clarity so we want remove smears, dirt and dust. 

❑ Hide Trashcans

❑ Lower toilet seats

❑ Put out fresh towels

 

Bedrooms: 

❑ Prep bedrooms: make the beds and fluff pillows.
